It's that time of year again! Daniel and I are walking for Meals on Wheels of Franklin County again - with our team from Orange United Methodist. This is the third year for Daniel and me, but our Friends of Frank team from Orange UMC has been walking for over a decade! With the current climate of uncertainty regarding our federal budget - and the uncertainty of funding for this vital program, it's more important than ever to raise money for this organization. Meals on Wheels not only supplies nutritious meals for our seniors, but it also provides human contact to those who may be living alone in their home. A visit from a Meals on Wheels volunteer is a good meal, a wellness check, a welcome voice and a welcome smile - the human touch! So would I. That’s why I’m walking in the 25th annual Meals on Wheels Walkathon on Saturday, April 29. You can help ensure that over 1,000 elders per year in Franklin County and the North Quabbin who need it can get a hot, balanced meal AND wellness check by a compassionate volunteer driver 5 days/week.
