Dear family, friends, former colleagues, neighbors, business associates and all of you in my contacts and address book,
Once again, I am making an appeal to you to donate to the LifePath Walkathon. I know you all donate your time and money to many causes and charities as I do. I am asking you to support this one with me. I promise I will only ask for this one.
LifePath offers a wide array of programs and services such as Meals on Wheels, In Home Services, Benefits Counseling, Protective Services, SHINE, Healthy Living, Money Management and many more. Many of these programs and services allow elders to age at home, to have a hot meal and a visit by a friendly driver, to pay their bills, to find answers to questions regarding insurance, etc. I have used some of these services. SHINE was a great help to me when I had to decide which prescription insurance plan to choose from the maze of options. Last year, Meals on Wheels provided me with a hot meal and a visit by a caring driver as I recovered at home after surgery. I could not drive. I was exhausted. It was a great help. Unfortunately, many of these programs are underfunded. In order to continue to offer all the programs at the same level, we have to raise funds on our own.
Last year, I had members of the South County Senior Center walk for me since I was unable to walk. This year, I WILL walk my three miles.
